You can, but with so many radiator covers out there, I would invest in one of those. Pretty and practical.

A high-heat enamel is a good choice. You can have it tinted to almost any color.

I have painted many radiators. I clean them real good. Prime them with a stain blocking primer then latex paint. Most of the time clients wanted to match the room color. I have also use spray metallic paint when a client requested it. Also have made radiator covers but did paint before installing the covers. Commercial covers are too expensive and limited in colors/designs.

If there is any residual rust on the radiator, you can spot prime with red-metal primer, then top coat with brush-on high-heat enamel.

If there is no rust, then brush or spray on high-heat enamel directly to the bare metal.

High-heat enamel is available in white, which can be tinted to match many light colors, and black. You can rush the paint on, but it will be tedious.

It is available in individual spray cans, too, but it's more expensive to purchase this way.

Your best option, especially if you have several to do is to rent an HVLP sprayer and do them all at once. HVLP stands for high-volume, low-pressure and delivers a very controlled spray pattern.
