Yes, you can easily grow them! I do it all the time.
Yes! I've actually sprouted a few (at times, unintentionally as I forgot about them in the fridge!). I transplanted to a pot in my back yard and they took right off! Unfortunately, we had a surprise freeze (here near Houston, Texas?!) that killed the gorgeous vines that appeared to be spreading and thriving. Good luck!
Planting sweet potatoes to get more potatoes is not a put it in the ground process. Yes, they will grow, after you root them in a glass of water, but it will produce the plant, not new potatoes. Once the plant has grown, you need to cut it off from the potato, and place the bottom of it in a jar of water and rooting solution, and when it has roots about 4 inches long, plant it, and now it will grow more sweet potatoes.
