My double hung French metal doors are in pretty good shape, however the little plastic piecesthat go on the inside edge of the connecting doors (that keeps them closed using the dead bolt)are all broken. Can I purchase these small pieces?
Thanks

Try your local home improvement store.

Take a picture of the inside edges and go to your local large home improvement store. In the section that has the doors, the associates that work their would be knowledgeable about what you will need and will help you pick out the right parts.

Do they make metal pieces for this instead of plastic? The metal would outlast plastic for sure. I’m sure in a hardware store like Lowe’s or Home Depot they would have some sort of pieces for you to use. We always get creative when we are trying to figure out how to fix our things at home. Good luck!

If these pieces are not at the hardware store, try www.build.com

Try to find out the brand of your doors. You can go to their website and possibly find replacement parts you need. Or else, you'll be able to find a contact number and give them a call about your problem of the broken plastic pieces. I'm sure you're not the only person having this issue and sometimes the companies will even send you replacements free when they have had multiple complaints about the same problem.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I found theselittle pieces/parts at a local door and trim store. The man that I spoke to at the shop was very helpful and he didn’t even charge me for the parts.
