Easy DIY Chalkboard Front Door Decor

I love to add decor to my home's front door. I usually craft wreaths for my front door. But when I spotted an inexpensive hanging chalkboard in the dollar section of a favorite store, I decided to create a quick chalkboard art project for my home's front door instead.
For my project, I used some liquid chalk markers that I already had on hand. I was going to use multiple chalk colors for the project, but discovered that only the green and blue markers showed up well against the black of the chalkboard.
I used a Stencil Revolution stencil for my project. I taped the stencil down with some blue painter's tape. (Masking tape would also work.) It took me only about 10 minutes to fill in the stencil using the liquid chalk markers. Once the stencil was filled in, I carefully removed the tape and lifted up the stencil. I was happy to find that the stencil worked perfectly! (I don't always have that kind of luck.)
I hung the chalkboard art on my home's front door. I think the chalkboard with its blue and green looks great against the red of my home's front door. What I like about this project is that because I used liquid chalk markers, I can use a wet rag to wipe the chalkboard clean when I want a new message on my home's front door. (The front door is protected by a storm door, so I don't have to worry about the elements ruining my chalkboard art.)
I'm not sure when I will switch out the message, though, as I'm really enjoying my home's new front door decor so far!
