I absolutely love aquariums. But the upkeep I do not want to do. So I decided to make myself a fake one. Only upkeep is to add water occasionally. Can't beat that.
My supplies. Jar, items for inside, floral gel beads, small stones.
I put a few stones in the bottom. Easy peezy, right?
Next I added my seahorse that I have had for years. Also, some greenery I found in my backyard while cleaning up leaves. Looks like they were originally from an aquarium because I found a few other items that were from an aquarium.
I added a few shells to the bottom.
Now is the time to make it look real. I took the two color floral beads and mixed them in a bowl. More clear than blue. As I began to pour them in the bowl they started jumping all around. Onto the counter, the floor and who knows where else. It was so funny, like I'm trying to catch them while I'm pouring.😂😂😂. Finally, I came to my senses and stopped pouring and went looking for the jumping beans, beads. Now to get them into the bowl without having to chase them all around the house, I slightly covered the top of the jar with my hand as I added the floral beads. Next time I think I will keep them all clear. Now to get them into my "aquarium". I carefully poured them as to not make the same mistake again. I could have added more beads, but I added water instead. As the water line goes down I will add beads next time. Also, added a few more colorful fish. Some of the shells from the bottom floated to the top. But that is fine.
I hot glued rope around the top. Hot glued a seashell where the ends of the rope met.
This is the shell on the rope, up close and personal.
Finished front view. One thing I will redo is the rope around the top. I need to straighten it out.
Finished back view. Now all I have to do for upkeep is occasionally add water as it evaporates. No fish food, no cleaning the tank out, no dead fish. Now to keep the cats out will be the challenge.😕

Hey, dude. Frankly speaking, your idea is cool. I am convinced, that you can even earn money selling these miniature imitations of aquarium, because they look wonderful, I mean, that they can be liked like by children, as by adults, and their making doesn't spend a lot of time, so you can make a lot of them in short period of time. There are some things, which you should notice, they are made from glass, so they are fragile ones, so children should be careful, during using them, and nobody should put into this "aquarium" real fish, because there is no filtration, moreover, there can be some vermin, like bobbit worm or something else. Would you deal with their selling?
