We have been using the recipe service, Hello Fresh for about 8 months now. Since we work from home, the service gives us the option to have a fresh, healthy lunch in around 30 minutes rather than having to go out or to rely on sandwiches or reheated leftovers.

Hello Fresh comes with most everything you need to cook a meal including very well thought out and organized step-by-step instructions. The size of the instruction card is a little on the large side. We’ve dealt with this minor inconvenience by propping it up where we cook, but really were looking for a more elegant solution.
Watch the video to see how we made the recipe stand.
This is a great "use what you have" project! We started with the easel back from a frame, a thrifted kitchen cabinet handle and a piece of random wood roughly 7" x 10".
We used two finishes of paint from DecoArt--one metallic and one chalky finish as well as a wood grain look stencil and brushes and stir sticks.
Because we are adding a handle we needed a drill, bits, and a Kreg hardware jig. The jig is not necessary but it makes placement and drilling of the holes for the handle very easy. A glue gun is handy for the last step, but any kind of glue would work.
Two coats of the chalky finish paint are used like a primer. I like this paint because it covers well and dries quickly. After that dries, two coats of the metallic paint are used. Be sure you stir the paint before using.
The stencil is used with the chalky finish paint using a stencil brush. Use an up and down motion with the stencil brush. Try carefully not to move the stencil.
Place the hardware jig on the bottom of the stand. (Make sure the surface is totally dry). Use the drill to make the holes. Add the hardware and screw into place.
The last step is to glue the picture frame easel back into place. Check the placement carefully before glueing to be sure the stand is leaning far enough back for the recipe card to sit well without falling off.
Done! You can change up the size, paint, and handles to match your mood and decor! Have fun with it.
Time to cook--we're having salmon for lunch!
Depending on the size, it can also hold a tablet. A smaller one can hold a phone.
The wood grain in the chalky finish paint is a good contrast against the metallic paint.
