You could even use 4x4's for legs and 2x4's or 2x6's for the seat part. Paint or stain for the look your want. You don't need to be a carpenter for this, just go to a home improvement store, get help picking out what wood you want and what they recommend to use to hold it together, most will even cut the wood to size for you and all you have to do is put it together and finish it.
