I made a wall hanging a year or so ago, and my daughter wanted one. When my daughter likes something I've made and wants it, she gets it!
I reckon they're wind chimes, but they get so tangled and mangled after an hour in the wind that, after all the work I put in it, I'd rather keep it inside!

Beads
The first thing I did, of course, was gather my supplies. Whoever was in my beads last, left them a mess (probably me), so I spent a while sorting them.
Bottlecaps
I had to put 2 holes in each bottlecap. A finishing nail and hammer works fine. Tap with the nail on the top of the caps (the side with the words). It's very difficult to do it from the inside.
I used Coats Extra Strong upholstery nylon thread. It's very strong, and has lasted for years on my outside projects.
Then I started stringing beads and caps!
The correct way to do this would be with crimp beads. I did not have any, so I strung and tied a bottom and top bead for each segment. With any knot you tie, tie at least 5 times, and trim. Attach beads to caps through the holes. I really did not use a pattern per se, just strung them and tied.
Make sure the start of each strand is a bottlecap. When you're ready to attach them to the base, string a good foot of string through the top hole.
All the bead and cap strands are ready
I used an old table leg from an end table that I found on the side of the street. Dumpster Diva and proud of it! I knew one day I would have a use for the legs!
I screwed eyelet hooks on each end of the pole for the string. For the string, I used 4 or 5 strands of the same thread, kinda all glued together. I put a dab of glue on my thumb and pointer finger, then ran the thread through my fingers a few times. Then I tied them on each end.
I had measured off an inch and half from both ends and started tying the strands at my marks. I wound the string around each mark a few times before tying them off.
Finished! I hope she likes them. Thanks for looking.
