Pondless garden feature is leaking. Could it be my unglazed pot?

I found my leak this way, I was able to add a section of hose on to where the water came in and extend and bypass it. Ran it for a few days and no leak, hooked it back up and leaked. If you can't hook a hose on to yours, you need to try to bypass the pot somehow, possibly with piece of gutter or metal for the water to see if that is where your leak is. Good luck!

I had the same problem. I cut a piece of a thick plastic contractor bag (basically a really heavy duty trash bag) and slid it under the pot so I was able to redirect the water flow that I was Losing through the porous pot. You can't even see it. You will have some evaporation too

We have a concrete fountain and it leaked. We finally figured out that the water was running back down the curve on the underside of the fountain and draining the fountain. You might want to check and see if this is your problem.

Thanks all that has been checked and seems ok I’m wondering if between the terracotta and oolite rocks it’s just evaporation ?? Well try it again afor longer and see what happens

unglazed terra cotta will cause a slow leak of water. You either need a glazed pot, or a high fire Stoneware to assure it doesn’t leak. If the pot is sitting in a waterproof area it may just be evaporation.

Don‘t forget that on hot days there is a lot of evaporation especially in water that is in motion.....

My pond had a very small splash out the sides. See if any ground is damp on the sides.

Splash out is one factor... wind is another... make sure the outflow area is large enough that a heavy wind does not cause the water stream to fall outside of the pool area... with some fountain elements.. water can be literally pumped right out of the pond on windy days... also check where the inflow hose enters the pot... plumbers putty can seal it off and prevent leaking.
