I have seen them that look like gates instead of a pet gate - I would think Home Depot or one of those type stores could tell you how to make a gate. We use a baby gate for our deck but it is not as large as what you need

At my dollar store, they had expanding trellises. I purchased 2 of them. I used 1 X 1 plant stakes (I use it to keep my furry son out of my garden) at each end, attached with small wood screws. Where they meet in the center, I put in a Hook and Eye clasp to close them together. Although I know he can jump it if he wanted to, he respects the gate, and only goes in the garden when I am in there.
