I have friends who are getting ready to move into their new home. I know they love the sea side and I wanted to give them a house warming gift to welcome them into our neighborhood. She loves burgundy and pink shades. I thought a sea side gift would be a cheerful addition in their new home.
You can buy a net of sea shells at the Dollar store or department stores. They have wonderful colors and are just beautiful. They have small, medium or large or a combination. If you have gathered your own shells on family vacations that is even better.
Dollar tree has all sorts of glass dishes from which to choose. I chose this dish because I liked the wavy top, like the ocean with mini-ripples. I had sand on hand. If you want colored sand, you can add food coloring for whatever you want to use in a similar project.
You can buy pretty quarts rocks at the Dollar stores or department stores. They come in all colors and sizes. I chose rose quartz and white quartz.
For a little variety I chose some faux succulents too.
I think this is a very pretty house warming gift. I could have chosen a dish with a lid, but it is easier to see the shells, sand, and quarts rocks in the open. I made myself a similar one, too, for our patio table. Would you like one as a gift if you were getting a new home? I know I would. It's just a small way to say welcome along with a meal for new neighbors. It only cost about $5
