My favorite (loves the sun) is portulaca. So many colors and never stops blooming.

I love petunias. People will tell you, that perennial ones do not exist but they do. I got mine on ebay. I have grown them in Pa. and Ky. If you bring the containers in, over winter, they will come back, next year, by the hundreds. I put mine in my garage.
I vote for wave petunias. So many beautiful color choices
