Black Cow manure or mirical grow soil and/or food for veggies. You must redo soil in pots every other year at minimum because plants will deplete it of the available nutrients.
I had a Floribunda rose in a huge container for years and it slowly was looking pathetic. Think thorns. I was really dreading repotting. I rolled the pot on its side and carefully pulled the rose out (actually had planted two in the pot) so the roots were pretty congested. I redid all of the soil using Miracle potting soil. Best thing I ever did as the rose repaid me with twice the blooms.
You can add a fertilizer such as Miracle Gro and some fresh potting soil. The new slow release granules in a plastic shaker container work well.
Every spring I repot every plant (even my potted trees), with at least half fresh potting soil, as the nutrients are used up. Over fertilizing can burn the roots. See if these tips help!

Fertilizer is a good idea but if you can remove some of the dirt and replace it with bagged compost too, that is a better idea.
Every spring I spoon out three inches of soil and fill it back up with new..saves my back.
Plant Food - Chicken Manure or or faster acting.........
you need to add fresh potting soil in the pots before planting
If you can't replace all the soil, take three or more inches (or less) out with a spoon and replace it with new
