With 10 week old kittens.... the whole house is a playground... boxes, paper bags... a very large (2 inch) rope hung from the ceiling.... EVERYTHING is a playground. The hazards: hot stove tops, open washer and dryer, plants that are toxic to kitties (Google search: plants toxic to cats).... otherwise just sit back and enjoy the circus... and be prepared to laugh until your sides hurt.

To entertain them, or to protect your belongings?

Go up! Happy cats climb. Offer multiple types of scratching surfaces. i have never had a cat who liked to scratch on carpet, so be sure to offer horizontal and vertical surfaces in sisal, hemp, cardboard, etc.

Get them one of those play towers, they love them. We had two cats that loved playing king of the hill so much that they wore theirs out and it fell apart!

We have several cats stands. Some are over 6 feet tall. Covered with carpet so the cats climb and sharpen their claws on their furniture not mine. You can sprinkle cat nip on their stands to encourage them to use that. Make sure they have access to kitten chow and fresh water. Have cat toy available (they don't have to be store bought). Of course a clean litter box too!

  • Cat scratches, cat towers for play and naps, cat toys. I have 6 rescue cats, plus dogs a bird and dragon, it is a circus every single day! If you can video them, they are so cute and funny, and grow so fast, post on you tube so we can all see them!

Most of all enjoy their funny antics - I would not get anything done, ever!

Obviously a cat condo of some sort is a must! Enjoy the kitties!

Ahhhhh, kitties!!! Stick down anything you don't want broken or knocked over. I put down folded old towels for them to lay on, and shake out to keep the hair off the furniture and the fleas. If they are furniture scratchers, I put clear contact paper on the areas of the furniture to deter them.... you can use double-sided sticky tape too. My kitties had lots of mouses, jingle balls, fishing poles etc to play with, and various scratching posts, lounges. Two cats = 2 cat boxes.
