I'd hang some long vertical iron pieces, off set, on each side of the metal chimney stack or something to pick up the mexican tile color. The clock has to go - sorry. Be careful of the heat from the chimney stack. Don't put anything flameable too close.

  • Maybe some oars or paddles or other long items but I would put them at angles and not straight up and down. Old fan blades from a farm might also be interesting.

i love it! Maybe like an oar? Or an animals head? Or a gallery of them?

Framed artwork or you could showcase some of your photos of trips, special occasions, etc.

How about a long-handled reproduction popcorn popper, and maybe a bellows. I think it would look great hung on the brick. Then maybe add a crate with birch logs on the hearth. Very rustic cabin look.

I think it would be most effective with NO decorations. Remove the plant and the clock. It has a dignity and presence just as it is.

paint the long dark pipe or stove vent a whitewash to blend in-now decorate and step back. The long dark pipe is a distraction and I believe

    unattractive.
