Does anyone have any suggestions for my circle driveway?

You have a nice start. Annual flowers to start with, perineal flowers for longevity. Taller plants in the middle, lowest growing allysum is one at the edges. medium sized plant in between. After planting, mulch the flower bed. Helps to control water evaporation. Keeps the roots cooler.

Maybe a nice bench or 3 with walk paths couple bushes on either side of benches, water fountain or water garden in center, or a tiered rock garden in center?!!

What a beautiful space! Love the flagpole. Love Dfm's suggestions,and I also like the idea of a bench that Teacup suggested. How about some geraniums or lavender?

I agree totally with the above replies. Make sure your soil is 'up to scratch', and plant your favourite plants, that suit the area. Perhaps a circle of, lavender??, then on the outside of the lavender, place some lovely pavers. Do you want to keep the flag pole where it is? Perhaps move elsewhere and then a beautiful pot, in the middle, in a colour that will compliment the plantings. And then on the outer circle, a ground cover, that will also act as a type of mulch. - The spillover onto the driveway defeats the purpose of having a mulch cover. Installing curved curb blocks around the border will eliminate this problem and give definition and more presence to the island.

- The three shrubs are too wimpy for this large of an area. They should come out completely. The inside rubber (?) edging chops up the space too much, and it is not clear what is its intended function. I would remove it, and spread medium sized river rock over the entire surface. Rock is the lowest maintenance landscaping cover, needs no watering, is wind proof, and has the same good looks in any season.

- The birdbath is competing with the flag pole. It also needs to be removed. If the flagpole were anchored in a rock base, it will be enough of a focal point to stand on its own. You may also want to consider installing a solar light.

You need some height, color and fullness in this area. Perennials that spill into each other like coreopsis, salvia, penstemon and geranium. Also some edger creeping plants along with colorful annuals will make this space pop. I also agree with removal of bird bath and solar light addition

I agree with FlipturnS suggestions. Birdbath needs to go somewhere else. No balance. Consider a ground cover border. Not a fan of the two tone. Bushes too small for the space Or add more items. Knock Out rose bushes between? Full summer color with them. Use a shovel around very outside to dig a gutter. Chips or dirt doesn’t spread onto driveway but I’d still fill that space with ground cover.

If I had that I would get pavers and make an "old world " compass .perhaps make arrangements for a flag pole . Plants in containers are good they can be changed out for seasons, no long term commitments and pest / weed control is much simpler.

Some kind of bench. A cement bench is carefree. Mulch or pretty stones.

Keep flag pole, in between shrubs place some tall colored ormental grass. Loose the bird bath and add some led lights on the outer edge.

if you really want water in that area start over small coy type pond on one side with a bench on the other, add lights to pond and color gravel for base.

You need to add some colored plants and if you can afford it place some nice decorative bricks around the outside.

i would get rid of the stones and plant grass...then plant something like Hostas that take very little care....

Abby, it just depends on how much maintenance you want to do? If you want to do minimal but still have it look finished, then the suggestion by Flipturn is definitely the way to go. If you want to water and/or prune, then you may abide by some of the other suggestions.

Remove bird bath too new location, ornamental grass in between scrub, solar light maybe.

Hi Abby, I would put a bunch of perennials in there, you could even add in some annuals for continuous color! Add a Delicate vine to the pole like Vinca Minor (Periwinkle)
