Windows and rain- what can I do?

When it rains my windows get direct hits, leaving the proof that it rained. What would be the best way to have the rain not leave the resulting residue (spots) all over them?

Thank you! I was at Target the other day with purchasing Rain-Ex on my list. However, when I read the information on the label, it warned about using for other than original intent. I do try to be careful with label warnings.
