First year for rhubarb. I was shocked it has gone to seed.

Should I cut off the stem where it went to seed? Should I harvest the 4 leaves? This is the firs time we ever grew rhubarb. A week ago was our first leaf, today 4 leaves and stem gone to seed! Please advise if you have rhubarb and know what I need to do for this first year.

Handle rhubarb carefully. I didn't know until recently that part of the plant is poisonous. I would research it before doing anything. Better safe than sorry.
