I was looking for a fun project to do and found it using Stencils.
I found this side table online and thought it was perfect for my next project. Two of the legs had separated from the base slightly. I glued them back into place and used Timber Mate Water Based wood filler to fill slight cracks in the wood.
I used 80 grit sand paper to sand the side table and reveal the beauty underneath. I used 240 grit to smooth the surface.
I painted the table with 2 coats of Annie Sloan Pure White Chalk Paint. After each coat, I sanded the table with 400 grit sand paper to make the surface smooth. I placed painters tape inside the draw to stop the chalk paint going where I did not want it to.
I searched for images online. I used Oracal 651 vinyl and cut the image with a Silhouette Cameo machine. I placed the stencil on the top of the table.
I used a stencil brush to apply two coats of Porters Chilli chalk paint.
This is how the image looked when I removed the vinyl.

I used the same process to Stencil images onto the legs of the table.

I sanded and painted the draw face with two coats of Annie Sloan pure white chalk paint, sanding with 400 grit sand paper between each coats.
I used a Stencil on the draw face. I covered the areas that I didn't want exposed to paint with painters tape and added a small heart on the draw knob.
I added the Stencils randomly on the bottom shelf.
I applied the paint with a Stencil brush.
I removed the Stencils and sealed the table with Rust-oleum Ultra Cover Clear Gloss Spray. Project complete icon The cost was minimal as I had the products required to complete the project.

I have a selection of Stencils for sale on Etsy. If you are interested you can check them out, look for Sassystencils.
