The local day care centre was closing down and a friend approached me with a Utensil holder from the centre and asked if I could do anything with it. I transformed it into a Stationary Holder.
This is how the Utensil holder looked when it was given to me.
I painted the piece with two coats of Annie Sloane Pure White Chalk paint. I used 400 grit sand paper between the coats to give it a smooth finish. I placed painters tape around the top on the inside to prevent the paint going on the inside of the holder.
I gathered what I needed for the project. Mod Podge, glitter and some stencils that I cut using the Silhouette Cameo Machine.
I randomly placed the Stencils on the now stationary holder.
This is the other side.
I used a paint brush to apply a "liberal"amount of Mod Podge onto the Stencil.

I applied a generous amount of glitter onto the stencil and left I to dry for a couple of hours.
Once dry, I shook off the excess glitter.
I re-applied the Mod Podge and repeated the step of putting a generous amount of glitter onto the stencil and allowed it to dry for a couple of hours.

I did this with each stencil that I placed on the Stationary holder. Once the glitter adhered onto the holder, I gently peeled the stencil off.
Once I was satisfied with the coverage of the glitter and had peeled all the stencils off, I sprayed the images with Rust-oleum Clear (Gloss) for extra shine and protection.
The glitter that I used for this project was fine glitter.
This is how the holder looked from the front.
