How difficult is it to hang a pre-hung door?

We recently purchased a replacement door for the back of the house. It comes with new frame already attached...can it be hung without removing the existing frame and still use the new attached threshold?

How did you measure for the new door? Why did you purchase a pre-hung door if you only needed the door itself? How do you imagine a pre hung door kit is going to fit in the space of a door? See if this helps!

  This was the only way the doors came. Was just curious if it would be easy to remove from the frame it came with and just install in place of the old one.

  You state that this is a replacement door for the back of the house. Is this an exterior door? Where did you buy this lovely door package? I am worried you are being taken advantage of by unscrupulous sales people due to lack of knowledge, of what you actually need.
  
  If it were me, I would return the entire thing and only purchase a door if that is what you truly need. And new door hardware and lock set if not salvageable from the old door.

No you will need to remove the door frame to fit the new door and frame. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iQBCsVXrL4&t=62s You may be able to use the threshold but depending on the door you might have to trim the bottom of the door if it doesn't fit.   Did not imply we were "unskilled", just wondering if it is easy to remove the "new" frame, and just use what is already in place.

  Well its harder to hang a door without the frame than with the frame, thats why they sell them with a frame. Sorry just seemed if you had to ask that question, you might get yourself in trouble trying to install.
