How do you restain a fiberglass front door?

It is a mahogany red/brown and has what looks like yellow pollen on it. When you brush or scratch it, the stain/pollen-like substance comes off.

I would wash off the door using a strong hose attachment, and either a car sponge or car brush with some cleaner like Dollar Tree Awesome Orange. Then restain the door if it needs it and add a marine spar varnish finish when its dry.

Try cleaning with this solution first, using microfiber with a bit of a scrubber on one side. The baking soda will also help with the pollen accumulated. Or the car brush sounds great.
You’ll need it completely clean before painting or staining anyway.
While I love the Awesome cleaner, it will need lots of rinsing to be ready to paint.
