Painted murals on bathroom walls and glass shower against them?

I want to paint the walls first and then install a glass shower. One side will go against the painted wall. Is this doable? The walls are old bead-board. I saw a photo of such walls, but it had a tub, not a shower.

Hi Karen. If you surround the whole area with glass it should be fine. The bead board can not get wet. There is cement board for baths and showers that needs to be used and then over that usually tile.

Thanks, Amanda. I will be using a complete glass shower except for the wall that has the plumbing and that one has the cement board. I think it's going to be cute.

There is just too much humidity in an enclosed shower to leave the beadboard there. Wood and water/humidity create mold. I agree with Amanda.

Like an outdoor shower [feeling] How pretty. As far as just painting the cement board, don't know, that's used when putting up tile and is grouted. Trying to think of what to use to cover that wall....at a loss. Want to do the outdoor look too, it's so cute!!! There's a wall covering used that would work but darned if I can think of the name. Ask around.
