It looks too cracked to just refinish yourself with a kit, and as a renter I wouldn't want to put that time/effort into it. Do be sure to notify your landlord in writing about the damage so that you don't have any unnecessary liability. Even if you told them verbally, you want to have a record of it.
Look for a flat woven patio rug to cover it. When you move, you can take it with you.
Hi there, you could always lay down pallets over top of it and make yourself an inexpensive wood deck :)
Yes what she said above plus you could try just covering the rest of it with the fake grass / outside carpet like you have there in front of the door - just do that over all of it. That way you can take it with you when you leave too as long as you don't glue it down.
I'm a fan of textured epoxy, but you would probably need to clear that with your landlord before you use it.
What you have is a concrete surface that someone covered with a self-leveling, epoxy type coating.... which is now coming off.... the uneven surface is a trip hazard... ask the land lord if they will fix it. One solution could be the rubber composite patio tiles ( 1 ft square) sold a Lowe's in the garden department they are about 3/8 of an inch thick and sort of stiff... they would need to be put down with a construction adhesive... so you would have to leave them. They have a different pattern on each side... brick or paver... they are usually a dark brick red.
Looks like an old patch job is flaking up. I would go with the indoor/outdoor carpeting that somes in several colors. An alternative but more expensive would be the teak deck tiles that you could take with you.... https://www.houzz.com/product/58688081-teak-tile-9-slats-10-pieces-per-box-spa-pool-wood-contemporary-hardwood-flooring?m_refid=PLA_HZ_58688081&device=c&nw=g&gclid=Cj0KCQjwuYTYBRDsARIsAJnrUXBCdlyC3nvFpymfUXED6AfPjSZ0ni1nWDIP8cVezJjADBQFIa5utW0aAjUOEALw_wcB
