I would tend to say one accent wall, but whatever looks good to you is what works. I would say one color scheme would tie it all together.
I agree, whatever your preference & likes is, I say go for it! I also agree that you would want to tie the two areas together with one color scheme. In one’s home, it comes down to what you want to look at each day, what you enjoy! I think unless you’re designing your home for someone else, go for what you will enjoy! Good Luck!
