Hmmm...what do you mean by older? I'm barely old enough to get the senior discount at the movies and I'm not old! ;-) All kidding aside, I have a DeWalt cordless drill with a 1/2" shank. It accommodates drill bits up to 1/2" in diameter, comes with two batteries and a charger. I keep one battery in the charger while I'm working on a project so I never run out of juice. It's working beautifully for me.

I recommend the 12V battery operated drill.(Makita) It is light and easy for women to handle. Purchase some different sized bits. Check to see what screws you are using and then take one to the store to buy the right sized bit.

Most cordless drills have drill bits and screwdriver that can be used with them. When you go to look at some, see which ones feel comfortable in your hands and ask a salesperson to show you how to change the bits and basic operation. They are fairly simple, and if you are using it mainly for basic chores you will find the tool is pretty simple and you don't need anything other than a basic model. This article has a lot of good info about it: https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cordless-drills/buying-guide/index.htm

You must pick them up to check how heavy they are. I like the cordless ones but some of them are too heavy for me.
