You’ve got it painted the same as your ceiling..that’s a start. I’ve seen some painted as a sky view.....blue with clouds.

I don't know what more you could do to hide it, but what if you extended the trim boards into a pattern over the whole ceiling? When you paint it, paint over the hardware as well. It would be a lot less noticeable.
Another idea is to have some kind of focal point below it, a brightly colored or patterned backsplash, possibly? Something that would attract attention in a way that you just wouldn't look up at it.
Maybe get some hanging track lights!??
Rather than try to hide or disguise it, dress it up! Change the trim out to something much more attractive and apply bead board to the door itself. Give everything a fresh coat of paint, including the hinges and attach a pretty knob.
What if you tried build a Coffered ceiling around the access panel

Hanging track lights or any light fixture for that matter would be very impractical, as it would be very hard to hide the wiring, and they would get in the way of access to the attic door.
