    Hosta is a plant from Eastern Asia that has large wide leaves with a flower stalk that grows from the center of the plant. As for what it means, I don't think it means anything. They are shade tolerant and do well in the sun.

    Hostas are great if you have shady areas where the won't get much afternoon sun. They are very drought tolerant and really fill in over time.
