Have a bench at the entry way. When taking shoes off or putting them on you can sit instead of doing the one legged hop. Also make sure the bench has storage inside so shoes can be put in their cubbies and put inside the bench (one cubby for each family member). And limit the number of pairs on shoes each person can have in there. Usually it is a limit of two pairs per person (at least at our house).

I have a shoe rack next to my most frequently used door.
You could put a small bench with cubbies underneath or a bench that has storage inside to corral the shoes.
