Depending on size of window and materials used, that amt. is not too bad for a window. I have shutters at most of the windows in my home and did two or three at a time (professionally installed) because I didn't have a huge amount of money to work with. White shutters cover bottom half of window; have vinyl pull-down blinds on top, covered by valances or swags. Easy to take care of and block out sun and prying eyes at night.
Thank you so much. It's a little pricy for my income compared to drapes and some blinds. I guess I'll do as you advised and I'll do 1 window at a time. And leave just my current blinds on the other.where
Did you purchase yours just so I'd know their quality was acceptable.Lynn h.☺
We have shutters in five rooms in our house and have had for over 45 years. They are expensive to start with but do not need to be replaced like curtains and draperies. they also work where a curtain would look odd, as in the living room which has a very large radiator. And in our sitting room which has one window high up.
Great!!! Thank you. I have forgotten how beautiful these shutters were!
When we moved into our home 23 years ago, I wanted custom shutters for our two front rooms, the windows are bay windows and I could not see how blinds would work on them....so we had them custom fit to the windows and they have been an investment that still looks good and they work well with keeping out the winter drafts and the hot Summer sun...they were well worth the high cost for the energy efficiency as well...I would do them again in a heartbeat...we got white Plantation Shutters 2 inch slats...get some estimates from different dealers to get a price range...good luck!
