I have several bread (and larger) baskets that I rescued from an estate sale. Only the bottoms are burnt, the sides of the baskets are all in tact. I have woven jute in the bottom of one with a chicken wire bottom. It's gorgeous, but not practical. Any other ideas ?

I don't want to cover the baskets, I want ideas to build a bottom for the baskets. I need ideas on what to make a bottom with and then how to secure it. I don't want to cover the sides , they are beautiful and unique.

I can not line something that does not have a bottom. I don't want to paint the natural baskets. I need to fashion a bottom for them. I need a textile to use as a bottom and then a way to reconcile the new bottom to the existing basket. I don't want to change or decorate them. Thanks anyway.

Would the yarn or plastic work as a bottom or to attach the bottom made of something else ?
