Hi, Tyreehardy94! First you sand the front door, and all the edges. Then you prime it, let it dry, then paint it, letting the paint dry after each coat. The best paint is Rustoleum exterior paint for extreme temperatures. Best wishes ☺️
Hi, if you don't know what paint was originally used on the door or you want to change from oil to latex, you do need to use a primer. Make sure it is one that will adhere to oil/alkaline paints as well as latex/acrylic. Good luck.

I just painted mine with outdoor satin finish. Works great.
