Painting a metal cabinet

It's completely metal, has many small drawers - I would guess that it's from a dentist office. It's a light tan and I want to paint is seafoam green.

check the rustoleum line of paints. they are made for metals. you can get it in a spray paint, and I think in comes in paint can now. clean your piece to remove all dirt/ grease rust. .you may need a finer grade metal type sandpaper for that. once you have it clean, and dry you should be able to paint it

I agree with Dfm. Use the Rustoleum line of products, they work real well on metals and come in many colors and textures. Just make sure you prep well so the paint has something to grab onto.

I have never been disappointed in a Rustoleum product. If your cabinets are steel, which is most likely. It is important to use oil based products, so you do not promote rust. I like to prime things out with a suitable primer and paint with a small foam roller. The foam roller leaves just a little texture that makes imperfections, like dents, disappear. I am a lazy person, so I buy a 5 pack and do not bother with clean-up. If I am going to do a second days work I freeze the roller in a zip-loc bag and use it again the next day.
