Only paint the outside surface of the door. The narrow side edge of the door should be the same color as the door that opens into a room.
Paint interior side of door to match interior walls, duh? Or to match molding/trim paint color of interior. Done.

I do the inside a different color to match my furniture.
If the outside door color works with your interior decor, them yes. No reason you cant paint interior a completely different color. Hope that helps.
