If your dog is anything but a pitbull, check out the new invisible fence units. They now come in radio controlled models so there is no wire to bury. They are portable too, just unplug it and move it. Of course you will need to work with your dog for a while until they get to know the beep from their collar means they are at their boundary.

Super cheap hog wire and rebar. Pound rebar into ground no more than 3 ft apart. Attach hog wire. You can upscale that a bit with making a 4 ft x 8 ft wooden frame, paint it black, attach hog wire to frame and use 2x2 posts in the ground. Stain posts cherry. Good luck.

Start by going to a fencing place, and see what they have, and how much it will cost. If it's a large amount, they might deliver for a small fee or free.
