I live in a brick house and would never think of painting it. Painting bricks will be a nightmare when it starts to flake. Bricks need to be able to breathe and expel moisture. I think you're better off doing some creative landscaping to spruce things up and also you could paint the trim, and the decorative features to add interest. A deep red would make things pop.

What kind of landscaping do you have now, can see anything but the house. We can't see what you have to work with to give you suggestions. I agree with not painting the bricks.

  • I would never paint brick! That's making work out of something that's maintenance free! You definitely need trees & shrubs and other landscaping. Trees are the backbone of your design. Start there. And yes, paint your trim.

Could you post a picture of the yard from the street that includes the house? It really helps to give suggestions to see the lay of the yard and the front of the house, like where the sidewalk is, how far from the house it is, etc.
