I wouldn't recommend doing it, since I doubt the plastic is food safe.

  I still wouldn't take a chance, since there are usually other chemicals with it. I would definitely avoid one with a pattern since the dyes/inks could be toxic as well. I would be concerned about the chemicals being absorbed into the food.

shower caps work great for bowl liners!

BE CAREFUL. SHOWER CURTAINS MAY CONTAIN POISONS AND MAY NOT

BE SUITABLE FOR COMING IN CONTACT WITH FOODS. ALSO, CHEMICAL COMPOSITION MAY VARY BETWEEN DIFFERENT SHOWER CURTAINS.

Cut out your pattern ie a circle the size of top of bowl then place this on a doubled curtain cutting two at once. Make a channel around the circle of fabric then insert a piece of elastic

Cut shape of container plus 1" all around to allow for hem and placement of Elastic or draw string...............
