I don't have moving compay boxes just various sized boxes from different companies. It would be handy to have them labeled with the contents and what room they will be unpacked in. Such as bath, kitchen, etc. Any suggestions are welcome!

My very organized sister in law did this years ago. She marked a number on the boxes and made had file cards with the same number. Then she listed what was in each box on the file cards. This is very detailed I know but in addition to marking the rooms on the boxes, you might want to do this. Happy packing.

Last time I moved, I numbered my rooms in my house I was moving too and assigned them a color. I printed out a sheet of paper with the room name and the number in the the color assigned. I have heard those who used colored 3x5 cards, or colored labels too. You could just use different colored markers to mark the boxes in each room too. I then went to the house and labeled the rooms in the color and name so anyone could match the box to the room. Should a box get in the wrong room, you could see it easily and move it to the correct room. I just used regular printer paper or scrap paper to write the contents on the box as we have a place that will buy our left over boxes and pay more if not marked up. Just used lots of tape to attach. It took time to prepare, but saved tons of time relocating boxes and hunting for things I needed right away.
