i bought my rose bushes with blooms already on them. When there is dead stem, I prune them. Water them daily and put some Preen around them, I also grind up Irish spring and sprinkle it on the outside of the bush so critters won’t eat them. Mine are doing really well. Good luck with your roses 🌹

You grow roses in soil. They need at least 6 hours of sun to grow well and to bloom. You need to decide what size roses you want to plant as they come in many different sizes. Miniatures grow about a foot tall and wide and they can be as tall as 5 feet to 6 feet tall. I would recommend that you Google the different varieties and how to grow them as they do require a lot of care.

Are you starting with new roses? Or ones that have been your garden for years?

New roses... I would definitely go with a Knock Out Rose! They are easy to grow and have been bred to resist diseases. They can be found at most green houses, I have seen at Big box stores also. They come in a variety of colors!! Once planted keep watered to your conditions. Also add an fertilizer that promotes growth and blooms.. I love Bloom Booster by Miracle Grow. You will find this fertilizer at Hardware stores and some green houses. They will not sell this product to Big Box stores. You will want to trim your bushes back at the end of the growing season and add a slow release fertilizer for the bush to feed on till it goes dormant and food for it to start on when spring arrives. Happy Gardening :)

!Knock Out Roses are almost care-free and easy to grow and care for. Dig a hole 2-3 X the size of the root ball. Loosen the roots and spread them around in the hole. Add some fertilizer and some sand (for drainage) in the hole and place the bush in. Keep watered.
