Because I have limited bending down abilities, I run three or four inches of hot water into my tub, adding some vinegar and dish soap, no measured amounts, then I take either my Vileda mop or a soft haired broom and with this you can scrub walls and tub very satisfactorily.

I use non toxic cleaners but sometimes you need something like Comet cleanser to get out tough stains or soap scum - also the Mr Clean Magic Erasers are excellent for cleaning tubs, showers, sinks, etc

Rubbing alcohol on a sponge or plastic scrubbing pad. I have also used toilet bowl cleaner, wait 15-20 minutes and scrub it in. Navel jelly for rust.
