How to get Glue off hardwood floor?

I had used Velco tape to hold my throw rug on my HARD WOOD FLOOR. Now that I have removed the rug, I can't get the glue off the hardwood floor without damaging the floor surface. TY

Spray the glue area with WD-40 or GooGone and let it sit for several minutes until you can peel up some of the adhesive. Use a very thin palette knife or putty knife to gently and slowly release the glue taking care not to mar the wood. Might take a while but it will eventually lift off. Then clean the oily area with vinegar and Dawn and then rinse well. Good luck.

Thank you. I will keep this info just in case I ever have to remove glue again. This seems so much easier than what we went thru (hours of different solutions/attempts. Probably combination of all that finally did a job. Wasn't easy. Thank you again.

Have you tried Goo Be Gone. You can get at dollar store as well as variety stores.

Would be good to know what you tried that damages the floor. I would use WD-40 and a cloth.

The trick is to just remove glue and not the floor finish....good luck.
