my shades are wide at bottom and get smaller at top with pleated paper like material glue gun helped hold together but it needs fresh , I can try paint but may look runny , Was going to paint bottoms too,

Hi Missy! You can definitely update the shades by replacing the current with fabric. If it’s the type of ”paper like material I think it is it may not hold up with paint. You can use fabric, make pleats and pin with sewing pins, then I would iron your pleats in place and use a heavy spray starch. After that you should be able to tack the fabric onto the shade.
