How to redo /repaint this entertainment Center

I have a cream colored Sectional in the Living room, not sure if I have to go for a brighter color or the same cream color to match the sectional.
Also Should I take the Glass paneled door off?

Do you have any accents color or other color themes in the room? What about picking a color out of your throw pillow and go with that? If it was me I would leave the glass doors on but that is because I live in very dusty area (sand blasting business next door).

I would suggest chalk painting it, perhaps a red shade first, then cream over it or vice versa to go with your current color scheme, then lightly distress. I also think a totally new pop of color would be great, say blue perhaps. I think it would be cool in that space. Good luck.

I think a White to blend with the wall would be nice - and to de- emphasize the center. Doors off or on. Either way would be nice. Could you paint the tv stand the same light color?

For continuity I would paint the entertainment black to match the t.v. & go with an accent color(s) on the wall behind it along with decorative items surrounding & on the center to pull it together. Best of luck to you, would love to see how you approached it.

You can never go wrong with french linen by Annie Sloan even pure white and gray. Neutral tones.

Another option would be to paint the TV stand and entertainment center a complimentary creme (not necessarily matching your sectional), then paint the niche that it is sitting in a very deep red which could match or compliment the other red accents in the room.

First off I think you should try to close it in tighter to the tv. Then I would depend on you decorating design. Modern go black, I’d even paint the wall behind black. Then when the tv would be the main focus. Or if you’re more rustic then yeah I’d go with the red idea. But I still think you should do the back wall black, it’ll make the tv look bigger.

Thanks,Yes I do agree with the idea of moving it closer to the TV

Removing the doors would open it up. I agree that the space around the TV should be smaller or build a shelf to connect the two sides or put a wood stand under the TV that could make it look like part of the unit. A darker wall behind would be good. Put some softer materials on the shelves like books, different textured fabrics, etc. Also removing the trim around the top would make it more cohesive looking. It does not have to match the sofa but have a nice color that is darker than the wall.

How about. Painting the 3 walls of the niche a med brown, the structure, including the insides, the same neutral color as your base wall trim. That will brighten it up without going too dark, and look like a tone-on-tone area. TIP: you can get a “deglosser” from a home improvement store that serves as a deglosser and primer and eliminates sanding. Just eipe on and wipe off. Then apply top coat of your chosen color. Good luck!
