Help need to make the font porch more inviting

Please help me to make the front porch more inviting and better curb appeal The colums are there and I like them the porch is long and narrow and is lower than the porch. out on the left side inset is a flower garden. But it does not add much appeal. I am at a loss as to how to bring it some umph. Any suggestions that do not cost a lot would be appreciated.

I would add railing to define it as a porch. Some hanging flower pots from the ceiling and a Wildflower seed mix flower bed along the front would look nice.

Hanging baskets; a porch rocker or two and pillows, with a small table in between invites sitters; a few plants in pots; a barn star or other tasteful outside decoration between each window would jazz up the place.

LTD Commodities has some very nice outside thing to hang at reasonable prices. Also, Plow and Hearth offers outside pillows for under $15.00 each.

If it's feasible (budget, time, etc.), you could 'buff up' those columns by building surrounds. Adding the hanging plants as suggested above would also be nice. If you add some outdoor seating (rattan, plastic, whatever you prefer) would really help define it as a porch.
