How do I learn to love the green quartz countertops in new house?

I am struggling...my husband and I are in the final stages of closing on our home in PA following three years of living abroad the UK and Australia in rented accommodation. To say I am excited to make this house mine is an understatement.
That being said...here comes the issue:
Our soon to be new home has green quartz countertops. Wow. Why WHY WHY would someone choose to spend so much on beautiful countertops and go with green? I am thinking about painting the custom cabinets a cream or eggshell to help tone this down and also putting up a new backsplash. Not sure which backsplash would go best it these though. I've seen people do a lighter matching color to the counter and then switch up to white.
Recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I want to love them...but oh my am I struggling!
Hi there! Oh I totally hear you, that green is really something else! I think if you go with a cream or white on the cabinets it will REALLY help those counter tops look less GREEN and more deliberate. If you plan on doing a back splash I think I would look into getting the two inch "back splash" that's already there removed (that may have to be professionally done but maybe not!) that would help make the counter tops look more modern too.

Your idea of cream or eggshell is great!! Don't do white on back splash, why not try a patterned back splash and pick up the green and cream. I love your new house from what I can see. Something like the rug I see in background. A soft floral with soft green and cream. The cream or eggshell will brighten up your kitchen. I just looked at the white wall next to fridge, why not think about white cabinets with the patterned back splash in white, soft green and a soft rose or red to pick up on your red appliance (coffee maker?) I like the cream color cabinets. In one of my kitchens, I had an off white cabinet with a white glaze (I think the brown glaze makes them look dirty). I loved it! My counters were a dark green. My backsplash was mostly a neutral field tile with accents of another tile. You can do so many patterns when using a neutral field tile.
What ever backsplash you do, make sure to seal it to make it easier to keep clean.
The problem with the kitchen is the tone on tone cabinets and floor. Then all of a sudden color without a companion in the wall color.

Green is not my favorite color either but wish I had a nice kitchen like yours. Had my 9' x 9'5" kitchen redone 9 yrs. ago but have little or no room to move around and cannot bump out because of the easement on the kitchen side of the house. You can get used to anything, believe me. Spend your $ on nice accessories and you will be surprised how the green grows on you...no pun intended.
Wow it is a very strong colour! Maybe try adding colours that will help time it down and that will go with the color, there are diy's for redoing countertops aswell if that is an option or if you're willing to give it a shot!
A backsplash that has a pattern or design on it may help tone it down, or you could make it an illusion of an Ombre affect, starting with the counters and getting lighter in color as it goes up (like the counters the green they Are, the backsplash a lighter colour with some green, then curtains/cupboard hardware an even lighter shade with lighter bits of green and so on)
I would change the color of my cabinets to make them darker. Also either paint or put up some type of back splash and accessorize it up!
I have a green paint I absolutely love, but green IMHO is not really a good color with food. . . although I love green dishes too. I like the idea of white or cream colored cabinets and the tile I see pictured.
After you decide on your cabinet and backsplash colors, treat the green as a neutral (like you do outdoors) and it will not bother you so much.
Paint the walls first and then do a backsplash that will take your eyes off the green. It is not a bad green color (and I have seen it all), looks like a sage that is actually on trend for colors now and goes well with succulents, white, cream.
