Hi there, my mom and I tackled her dark kitchen cabinets. First we cleaned them up with a good degreaser, vinegar and water and then hand sanded all of them. We took off all of the doors and all of the drawers and put them out in the garage. Then we did two coats of an acrylic primer, two coats of an acrylic white paint and two coats of poly acrylic in a semi gloss. We added hardware (because their wasn't any before) and, omg, it was time consuming but the results were spectacular! https://www.grandmashousediy.com/kitchen-cabinets-white/
