How do I make Christmas cactus bloom

    Just give it indirect but bright light (where you could read in daylight without a lamp on) and water only when dry. I fertilize starting in late summer using half strength. Mine always blooms. Don't repot unless absolutely necessary. They seem to do well in dry, crusty looking soil.

    Keep it on the dry side all summer and do not water until you feel the leaves are soft. When it does start to bloom that is when you will need to water more often. Some put their plants outside for the summer in the shade but I find that the bugs tend to gather and then you have a problem trying to get rid of them once they are in our home.
