I want to make spheres from yarn - wrapped unevenly around a Crisco covered balloon. The yarn needs to be dipped in glue first, but yikes! There are many glues available im lost. I originally thought plain old white glue, but is there something better for this??

It might depend on the purpose of the yarn spheres.

Why do you need to crisco the ballon? your going to break it at the end anyway. Elmers glue, and we also used to use liquid starch way back when.

I agree with Sharon. Don't put anything on the balloon. Once you broken it will just peel away. Use Elmers white glue.

We always used Elmer's glue when I was a kid. We never coated the balloon, it always came off cleanly when the balloon was popped.

Good info! That was in first inclination, but I saw so many options and started overthinking it! Nothing on the balloon. Okay! Thanks Everyone!

Modge Podge glue also will probably work.

Thanks. I was wondering if that was an option.

I've used pre-mixed wallpaper paste with success.
