Crawl space-Any suggestions?

I have a crawl space accessed thru a hatch in an upstairs bedroom closet. I attempted to go up there and it was so hot it was unbearable. I’m thinking of some kind of fan with a thermostat to control heat and keep bats out at night. The house is fairly young but the bats are a problem. I can’t seem to locate where they are entering. Also thinking an led light at night may keep them out. I need to control all from closet without having to enter space each evening. Any suggestions?

  • I would work on finding out where the bats are coming in and seal it up.

PUt a bright light or two up there. Keep it on at night. Walk around the outside of your house at night and you will be able to see the shining light where the hole is where the bats are coming into your house. Since they fly at night, you can also watch them exit your house. It is cooler at night, or at dawn, so that is the best time (also when the bats are still away from your attic) to get up there and repair the hole. I think your idea with a thermostat, etc. is too complicated...
