I love art, color and hackingicon ! I'm always looking for ways to add color to my home and this is so easy to paint!
I looked at all the things West Elm has and just couldn't decide what I wanted to make. I looked at tables, pillows, candles, seating, etc... everything but I wanted to do something simple with this challenge so others could hack it too. I decided on art!
Again so many choices to choose fromicon that I ended up doing several ! These are the colors I picked for the art hack! Mainly shades of red, very colorful stufficon
A picture frame with a cardboard back is perfect for this project! I didn't want the painting to touch the glass so I added chopsticks to give a space between the painting and glass.
I also painted the inside of the frame and chopsticks a bright apple red to match the painting.
You can't see the space between nowicon !
I painted the cardboard all white, let dry. The painting is just dots and dashes! Super simple!
My finished West Elm hack!icon It only took a few hours to do and it was so easy! This can be done on a smaller scale or larger! You can use any color you want!
And this is the $350.00 art I did for free! icon
Thanks for looking and now I have another hack to post! Any questions or comments are always welcomed!

what is the frame made of? I want to do this in a poster size, but most inexpensive frames are made of plastic. Not sure paint will adhere well. Thanks! What a great idea!
